Marijuana protest.

Andrew publicly possessed marijuana, announcing it in advance to the media and the police. He crafted his protest as a win-win situation. He was merely going to be holding a plant in his hand. If the police arrested him, they would be doing so for a blatantly non-violent act, where no person was harmed or killed and no property was damaged or stolen.

Refused to pay fines set by court.

In reference to Andrew's marijuana protest, he appeared at their trial for him. Before going, he announced that he would go but not participate unless video cameras were allowed in the courtroom; they were.

Illegal distribution of handbills during an IRS protest.

Dave did a silent sign-holding at the IRS in Nashua. He stood silently and peacefully - even smiling - in the IRS office with a sign that said "Is it right to work for the IRS?" One of two IRS employees admitted to being annoyed by Dave's presence, and so he called the police. At some point, Dave placed a flier on the counter in the IRS office.

Outlaw puppeteering.

Dave continually raises the bar in protests against inane laws. He began with presenting a puppet show for a fee, without a license. This is illegal. He alerts the cops and media ahead of time, telling them he will be breaking their laws.

Pans his camera in courtroom against order of the judge.

A judge in Keene allowed video cameras in the courtroom but banned the videographers from panning their cameras, so Dave brought his camera to a court proceeding with the explicit intent to pan it. He alerted the judge in advance that he would do so, and the judge backed off his previous decision to ban panning.

Audio recorded a cop despite the cop's threat of arrest for it.

A cop at a Freedom Fest event told Dave, "You can video record me, but I don't want to be audio recorded."

Dave held the camera steady and replied "Well you can arrest me then."

The cop said, "Ok, if that's what you want" and continued his business, leaving Dave alone.

Held "Taxes pay for torture" sign in IRS office.

After seeing her friend, Dave Ridley, put behind bars for the "crime" of Distributing Handbills, Kat decided that she must stand up to this oppressive government, even if only a small way. So she sat in the Keene IRS office with a sign saying, "Taxes pay for torture" until federal thugs arrested her.

Stood up (by not standing up!) against eminent domain.

Lauren moved to New London, Connecticut in order to help the homeowners fight the government from stealing their property (you know, eminent domain, for the good of the people!). She got the permission of one homeowner (whose house was to be stolen from him) to sit on his front porch and read a book.

Didn't empty her pockets.

On the day Lauren went to retrieve the camera that the federal cops stole from her a year earlier, she not only was arrested, but was charged with disorderly conduct and blocking the entrance of the federal building. The "blocking the entrance" charge was dropped when Lauren, in court, produced the courthouse's own security video, clearly showing nothing was blocked.

Stood silent in an IRS office to protest taxes paying for war and torture.

When Kat decided to stand up to this oppressive government by holding a "Taxes pay for torture" sign in the lobby of an IRS office, Lauren joined her protest without hesitation. In Lauren's case, she was arrested for peacefully standing in the lobby of a public office, for not saying a word. She was silent, and for that she was arrested.

Crossed a road-block.

When Ed and Elaine Brown held a party while under siege by federal marshalls, Lauren walked past a road-block when the thugs wouldn't let her drive where she wanted.

Refused to show (or have) drivers license or car registration.

Lauren believes we do not need the permission of government to own or operation our property, or to travel. So when cops pulled her over and demanded to see her paperwork, she remained silent and didn't display any paperwork, and they arrested her.

Details are on this thread.

Blocked utility companies trying to turn off utilities of eminent domain properties.

In New London, Connecticut, Lauren helped protest against eminent domain. One thing she did was park her car in such a way as to block the utility companies from turning off the utilities of the properties stolen by the government. Lauren also refused to move her car when the gas company called the police and the police asked her to move it.

Handed out fliers to IRS employees.

Russell was trying to hand out fliers to IRS employees, and then to the feds that came up to stop him. They told him he couldn't hand out fliers on postal property (I think the IRS office was in the same building as the post office). At some point after being told not to go in, he turned and began to walk up the steps. The feds arrested him.

Refused to cooperate with arrested cops or judge.

On July 31, 2006, Kat posted to the NH Underground: "They just came in and threw Russell to the ground and took him. They were taking him to the Federal Court in Corcord and he's supposed to go before a judge this morning."

Driving without a license.

On March 6, 2007, Russell was arrested in Keene for driving without a license. The cops released him an hour later under the condition that he appear at their trial for him sometime in the future, event though Russell said he would not appear at their trial.

Arrested for not paying child support to his ex-wife who stole his property.

On March 17, 2008, Russell was arrested by state cops at another activist's, David's, hearing in Keene. Russell was held on $10,000 bail.

Refusing to be "processed" at jail.

On April 10, 2007, Russell was ambushed by cops while he left a park, and they arrested him. It was later learned that the issue was the right to travel without the government's permission: Russell was arrested for driving without a license and failing to show up in court for the same.

Driving without a government license.

Russell was driving by the country club in Keene, when he came upon about 4 cop cars. They had chased some guy on a motorcycle. Shane Maxfield, the chief cop, was directing traffic and came up to Russell's window to say "hi." He asked Russell to pull off to the side. After a while the told Russell they had to arrest him for not having a government license.

Flew on airplane without ID.

On June 11, 2005, Russell tried to board a plane to Philadelphia to see Independence Hall while carrying only a copy of the Declaration of Independence...no government-issued ID. He ended up in Rockingham County Jail. The TSA said he was charged with the Class B Misdemeanor of "Criminal Trespass" with no chance of jail time and a fine of up to $1,000.
