After seeing her friend, Dave Ridley, put behind bars for the "crime" of Distributing Handbills, Kat decided that she must stand up to this oppressive government, even if only a small way. So she sat in the Keene IRS office with a sign saying, "Taxes pay for torture" until federal thugs arrested her. She was arrested for sitting quietly in a the lobby of a public IRS office holding a sign; not blocking people or stopping "business" from transacting, just from making a statement. You know: free speech.
