Dave did a silent sign-holding at the IRS in Nashua. He stood silently and peacefully - even smiling - in the IRS office with a sign that said "Is it right to work for the IRS?" One of two IRS employees admitted to being annoyed by Dave's presence, and so he called the police. At some point, Dave placed a flier on the counter in the IRS office. The flier explained Dave's protest and his position: "I'm here to respectfully ensure [IRS agents] know that I do not appreciate what they are doing and to make them feel uncomfortable...morally, not physically. IRS taxes fund torture, waste and unconstitutional Federal mandates like the privacy-killing 'Real ID.'" The cops ordered Dave to leave, and he slowly did. Days later, the cops contacted him and issued him a citation for "illegal distribution of handbills" or some such nonsense. Dave refused to pay the fine and they imprisoned him.
